UC Davis - BS, Biochemistry , PhD - NYU, Neuroscience/Physiology
Experience
I've been lucky enough to perform a lot of interesting biological research, including publishing a paper regarding retrotransposons of marine invertebrates with the acclaimed Roy Britten and characterizing one of the first K+ channels in Mammalia. These experiences led me to change my mind about becoming a doctor. I went to UC - Davis for my bachelor's degree in biochemistry, and then earned a doctorate in neuroscience and physiology at New York University. Since graduating, I have performed and published plenty of additional research. I had the opportunity to teach in the Caribbean in a medical school, leading courses in cell biology, neuroscience, and physiology. I really enjoyed sharing information with others and helping them learn, and I also learned a lot myself. I'm looking forward to tutoring science courses including biochemistry, pharmacology, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, physiology, and cell biology. When I have free time, I like to travel and practice photography.
