Hobbies

If I were to say one thing about myself, it would be that I chose the correct profession. I started college wanting to be a doctor until my third year. I had taken my MCATs and gotten into medical school when my mother, a nurse for 35 years, had a dinner party where she had invited some doctors. My mom, dad and all the doctors and their spouses were sitting around the table when one of them asked me if I was still planning to go into medicine. After telling her yes, there were resounding cries around the table telling me to rethink my decision. Not that they didn't enjoy their jobs, but they just suggested that it might be a good idea to at least think about other professions. That one night set me on a path toward teaching and I'm so happy that I'm here. A little about me. I love to golf, go on hikes with my wife, watch baseball and read 19th century literature. My favorite author is Tolstoy and my favorite book of all time is Anna Karenina followed by Moby Dick at a close second. Science is my passion and reading is my love.
