Education
BA in Liberal Arts at SUNY Stonybrook. Studied piano with Martin Canin of the Juilliard School and composition with Isaac Nemiroff, David Lewin and Billy Jim Layton. Studied choral music with Gregg Smith and the art of the folk minstrel with Richard Dyer-Bennet
Experience
I have taught piano over the course of the last 40 years, along with basic music theory and songwriting. I've found that I have a love of teaching, and an ability to put complex ideas into simple, "easy to understand" terms. Remember, all complexities are a combination of simplicities! I currently am an accompanist at OCSA (Orange County School of the Arts) and teach piano privately. I am also developing an original musical called "Genetic Eddy", of which I've written all music & lyrics, plus created the story and have helped write the book. It most recently had a staged reading at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. I originally was a NYC studio musician and artist - I've played venues from Carnegie Recital Hall to CBGBs! My Sacred Music experience was as Music & Choir Director for the New Hyde Park, NY Methodist United Church. I am a published songwriter and member of ASCAP.
